The Tikka action is by far the best in this price point because it cycles ammo perfectly, has a silky smooth bolt slide and is manufactured to a high tolerance so every last one I pick up feels just as good as the one next to it. Going to take the plungedeep. Threaded barrel for a brake. Do you have any information on the Howa, or an opinion on which way I should. There is one drawback to the Tikka T3x Lite. Though the tightest of those were from outlets that shoot 3-round groups, for what thats worth (well, its worth a tighter average group size). I like the cleaner lines without the mag sticking out. Holy Moses, what an incredible rifle. They look standard, dont include fluting on the (rather beefy) bolt or the (rather beefy) barrel, the action and barrel are just blued, the trigger is fine but not outstanding, the action is quite smooth but not as smooth as a Tikka. Available in six calibers, TTAG gave the $609 MSRP .308 Winchester flavor a test drive. Today, though, I would buy a Dead Air Nomad or a CGS Hyperion given the choice of anything on the market. Nor do my groups appear to be outliers for the Momentum. Gear up as your favorite Delsin Rowe Vest. If you go slow while trying to be quiet in a hunting situation, it may not feed right. Granted, I got the better tools for measuring how off what they sold is but theres some applications where cheap is better. Its a great suppressor. The stock feels like it is created of a very tough polymer. So how do you really feel? What r your thought for a high end choice up to around the 3k range? Have to admit I love Henrys, so am trying to take my heart out of the decision with wisdom from someone more experienced like you. Im at a point that I can spend $1500+ for a hunting rifle. This rifle broke two scopes I highly recommend the Leupold which I have on it now .team this up with the Barnes TTPX BT. Same as you, I wish the offerings were a bit better. Magazine Comparison: The Browning X-Bolt features a 4 round detachable polymer rotary magazine. I own the X-Bolt in 7mm Magnum and it is fantastic. But the chassis is the killer for me. Its a scaled down, lighter weight Sako TRG action with a Sako barrel and trigger. Man I really love your reviews! Also would be cool to see you do a semi-custom rifle (Bighorn action, prefit barrel, Ag composites stock, trigger tech, etc.) The Howa is around $200-$300 cheaper than the Savage. Just easier to carry in hand, never a sling. The rings came with friction paper. I mean, this is one heck of a tight group! Things happen and every animal is different, but I feel like its my duty to show that respect. Am I wrong in my logic? The Sig Cross has really become one of my favorite guns to shoot. Ive tried a lot of others, including Hornady PH (178gr I think) and Hornady Match 168 gr, and they are lucky to shoot 4 inch group with huge point of impact change. Fierce Reaper I just love it so much. I dont want it to feel pain or the anxiety of dying slowly. Hello Jim, great article. Some day Ill give one a more fair look. Excellent in every way but its expensive. There is a nice Bavarian Sako but theres isnt much data on accuracy on the range with a scope. I could go for a more grabby grip myself, but the Momentums checkering is certainly sufficient. I actually ordered a CVA cascade first, in .308, but changed my mind and returned it and bought the Franchi. You have entered an incorrect email address! Ruger precision is really heavy for hunting, but a cool rifle. Seems like a lot of bang for the buck. A lot of older rifles are very superior to these entry level rifles. However, Ruger American rifles are not perfect. You mentioned the seekins havoc, but not in detail. GSG, I always just hunted. Just remember one thing the price of the good older stuff keeps going up and up so when you waste your money on junk it never goes up in value as fast as the good stuff so when you do get around to buying something of quality you lost twice not once. I sent my Rival back for repair and after six weeks it came back with the same problem. What is your opinion on the Edge vs Rival? The scope hasnt moved for years now and I have shot it quite a bit. Thanks for your thoughts and time! The trigger is heavy, but thats true on the Browning XBolts as well. Thank you. Nor did it entirely love the excellent Hornady Black ammo, putting two rounds through the O that I was aiming at and three in another very tight group some distance away.
